Great Gift Idea For Boys
It all began when my 5 year old son said to me “mummy I want a ‘pepugan’” – I said – Ok, next time we buy you a present and you can get one of those. I have to admit, I had no idea what he was talking about, I googled it and nothing.
His birthday was approaching and I wanted to surprise him with “pepugan”. I decided to investigate further and in one of his play dates I asked the mother if she know what “pepugan” was, she stared at me puzzled. And then the two little brats came to the living room making war noises with “pepugan” on their hands. The kids mom said “Ahhh, Bakugan!!!”.
Ok, I found it, now I had to buy him some.
I did some research and here is what I found:
It is indeed one of the hottest trends in toys for ages 4-10. This is a great gift idea for christmas.
Everybody is predicting it to be even bigger than Pokemon. It was named one of the top toys of 2008 by Time Magazine and Newsday.
Bakugan features both a cartoon show and a competitive card game, with many accessories to accompany it.
The game consists of Bakugan balls which transform into characters of the TV series, all kinds of monsters and dragons, cards, marbles, launchers and battle arenas, among others.
Each card represents a Bakugan Battle Brawler character.
The Bakugan ball opens up when it lands on a Bakugan card, thereby unlocking and transforming the playing piece into a particular fighting position.(it works with some kind of magnetic mechanism that the card activates)
Kids play a simulated ‘battle’ with all the noises and battle faces, that determines which player captures that particular card.
Keeping the score of the battle rankings is for older kids, but it certainly didn’t interfere with the enjoyment of playing these simulated battles.
Back into my story, I headed to the store and found some great stuff, there are these Bakugan balls and cards, Bakugan characters sets, something callled Bakugan battle arena (that in my opinion can be enjoyed at all ages) and much more.
I bought him 2 Bakugan starter packs and one Bakugan Battle Pack and hid them in my office.
His birthday arrived and in the morning I said “What present do you want?” – he said instantly “pepugan”, so I was certain he will love it.

the large package and gave it to him, it was a big package he seemed so dissapointed, he expected the small bakugan balls and instead he got this.
He tear the paper and when he saw what was inside he was so happy, he started to dance and jump, I was so glad.
He now plays with his Bakugan toys every day and he invents different games with the characters.
I think this is a great idea for a present, especially for boys. Hope I helped you with the holidays shopping.!!
