Juegos como DragonBall Origins le han dado la razón.

The very first Dragon Ball universe game was on a system that the average game has never heard of, the Super Cassette Vision, a console released in 1981 by an equally unknown company, Epoch. Needless to say, Dragonball Z games had a rocky start, considering the first Dragonball Z game released in North America was changed so drastically that the Dragonball Z name wasn’t anywhere present, and all of the character names and designs were changed to appeal to the Western market.

Dragonball Z games didn’t get another North American release until Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout, in 1997, a considerable amount of time after the entire series was shown in Japan, and the Dragon Ball Z show hadn’t even been showing a year when this game was released, so there was no proper audience for the release.

It wasn’t until after this that Dragon Ball Z blew up in the United States, and the first of the Budokai series was released in 2002 on the PS2, PSP and Gamecube; this is a considerable gap in console generations, so many of the classic Dragonball Z games were completely overlooked by American gamers; most aren’t even widely available. There is an exception of course, as the world of game emulation really exposed the Western audience to the older Dragonball Z games for free. I won’t go any further into console and game emulation, as it is somewhat illegal.

Though, on the legal side, there are free online Dragon Ball Z games in the form of your basic, primitive flash games here and there. These aren’t the cream of the crop when it comes to Dragonball Z games, but they are certainly better than nothing. One extremely popular form of free online Dragon Ball Z games are through the BYOND (Build Your Own Net Dreams) program, which allows fans to make and play their own simplistic video games. Some are even quite complex and engaging, but they are few and far. Either way, they are certainly good ways to pass the time.

The franchise of Dragonball Z games in North America most probably peaked with the Budokai series, and not many other titles have garnered the amount of attention from the fans like the Budokai series. It seems the franchise of the games might have the same fate as the franchise of the series and just end up being an underground phenomena or even written off as a fad.

Detective Conan Box Sets Question?

Okay so I was wondering if I go and buy the DVD box sets for Detective Conan (Case Closed), is there the option to have it where it is English Subbed? I want to know before I go and buy all of them if I am able to have the option to have English Subtitles with it, so is that an option?

let me rephrase that…

If I buy the Japanese Box sets for Detective Conan is there an Option to have it with English Subtitles, I'm asking this because I think the Voice-overs for the show to English are Terrible, plus the English ones only goes up to Episode 130… not even to the end of Season 5, so I want the Japanese ones, but I want to make sure I am able to have English Subtitles with the show… otherwise it is pointless to own them since I can't understand Japanese

The key question that all screenwriters should ask themselves is: how do I write a script that Hollywood wants to buy? Most writers mistakenly think that success is all about connections and star power. Not so. The real trick to writing a script that will sell is to know and use Hollywood’s central marketing strategy. And that can be summed up in one word: genres.

Former Universal Pictures chairman Marc Shmuger recently said, “There’s no doubt the star system is in transformation. Arguably the two biggest stars in the first half of 2009 were Kevin James (Paul Blart: Mall Cop) and Liam Neeson (Taken)…That’s a significant shift in the meaning of star power and a shift to the premium that is being put on concept and genre.”

Shmuger is telling any screenwriter who is smart enough to listen the 1st rule of the entertainment business worldwide: it buys and sells genres. Genres are story forms and each has from 8-15 special story beats (story events) that make up the form. The reason Hollywood marketing is based on genre is that executives are selling to a worldwide audience. And people the world over love particular types of stories that speak to their deepest desires. I’d like to tell you 10 story techniques that must be in your script if you want the best chance of selling it in a genre-dominated business.

1. Know the 10 most popular genres.

Step 1 in writing a script Hollywood wants to buy is knowing the 10 most popular story forms. If you write a script that is not based on one or more of these genres, your chances of a sale plummet. They are Action, Comedy, Crime, Detective, Horror, Fantasy, Love, Myth, Science Fiction and Thriller.

2. Combine 2 or 3 genres.

In the genre-focused entertainment business, the most important story strategy today is to mix genres. 99% of films made, not just in Hollywood but worldwide, are some combination of the ten most popular genres. Why? It all goes back to that old rule of selling: give the customer 2 or 3 for the price of 1. This, in a nutshell, is how Hollywood works.

Let me give you some examples. The super-popular Twilight films are horror + fantasy. The Bourne films are action + thriller. Knocked Up is comedy + love. Little Miss Sunshine is myth + comedy. Titanic, the most popular movie of all time, is love + disaster film + myth. The Dark Knight is crime + myth + fantasy. The Harry Potter stories, the most popular books of all time, are fantasy + myth + horror + coming of age drama. The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are fantasy + action + horror + myth.

3. Find the right genre for the story idea.

The single biggest decision you make in the entire writing process occurs right at the beginning, when you are developing your premise, or story idea. The decision is: which genres should I use for this idea? Here’s a shocking but eye-opening fact: 99% of scripts fail at the premise. And why? It’s not because their original story ideas weren’t good. They fail because the writers didn’t know the best genres to use to go from a 1-line idea to 2-hour, 120-page script.

Each genre will take a story idea in radically different directions. So when writers choose the wrong genres to develop their idea, the result is not only a lot of bad scripts but also the waste of thousands of great story ideas. Given that you can use many genres to develop the same idea, the key question is: what are the right ones? The secret to choosing the right genres is buried in the story idea itself. You need to dig into the premise and find the genres inherent to that idea. Instead of trying to copy a popular movie from the past, you need to find what is original, what is organic to your story. One of the powers of genre is that the right genres highlight the inherent strengths of the idea and hide the inherent weaknesses.

In my genre classes, I talk a lot about techniques for digging into your premise and finding the best genres for you. One of them is to focus on the desire line, one of the seven major story structure steps. It turns out that each genre has a unique, pre-determined desire line. For example, the Crime desire is to catch a criminal. Detective is to find the truth. Horror is to defeat a monster. For Love, it’s to find love. Myth is to go on a journey, ultimately leading to oneself. Figure out the goal of your hero and see if it matches the desire of any of the main genres.

4. Use myth as one of your genres.

Because Hollywood only wants scripts with blockbuster potential, your story must be popular in over 100 different cultures and nationalities. That’s a lot of communication barriers to cross. Unfortunately, most writers don’t know which genres travel well and which don’t. For example, comedies based mostly on funny dialogue DON’T travel. Myth, on the other hand, loves to travel. That’s why myth is found in more blockbusters by far than any other form.

Myth is the oldest of the 10 most popular film genres, and is surprisingly complex, with 15 special story beats. But boy is it popular. Try adding up the box office of these myth-based films: Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Shrek, Star Wars and The Lion King.

5. Combine myth with one or two other genres.

While myth is the foundation of more blockbusters than any other genre, it almost never stands alone. That’s not just because Hollywood wants to give people 2 or 3 genres for the price of one. It has to do with the deep weaknesses found in the form itself. The myth form is thousands of years old. And it has a very episodic structure, so it can grow tiresome and decline in power through the middle of the story. Top professional screenwriters know this, which is why they always add 1 or 2 other genres to modernize the myth form and overcome its episodic quality.

6. Make one genre primary.

Screenwriters who are smart enough to study Hollywood as a business know that it’s all about combining genres. Where they sometimes go wrong is in execution. It’s one thing to say, “Take 2 or 3 story forms and put them together into a seamless whole.” It’s another thing to do it well. Combining genres is more difficult than it looks, because of what it does to the story structure under the surface. Each genre has a pre-determined hero, opponent, desire line, thematic focus, and so on. Which is why most writers combining genres end up with a structural mess. They have too many heroes, desire lines, opponents, themes and story beats. Any one of these structural mistakes will kill a script, so imagine what happens if you make them all.

When mixing genres, the key is to make one form the primary one. This will give you your hero, a single desire line, a single story line and the most important unique story beats. Then put in other genre elements where they fit, so they amplify the primary form.

7. If you’re writing a screenplay for an indie film, write horror, thriller, or love.

One of the best ways to break in and separate yourself from the thousands of other screenwriters in the world is to write and make your own film. Of course, that requires keeping costs to a bare minimum. And the cheapest genres to shoot are horror, thriller and love. These genres require the fewest actors, sets and special effects. Of these, horror is the most popular worldwide. But the most important determinants of which genres you use for your indie film are which genres are best for your story idea and which genres are you best at writing.

8. Hit all the genre beats.

Writers of blockbuster movies always know their genres so well that they hit every one of the story beats unique to their form. In genre writing, this is known as “paying the dues.” And it’s absolutely essential or the audience feels cheated. Remember, they are there to see the story forms they love, so you have to know your genres better than anyone else and give the audience what they crave. And that means, knowing how your genres work under the surface, in the structure, where the real story work is done.

9. Be original, transcend the genre.

It may surprise you that the biggest reason a reader turns down a script is because it’s “derivative.” That’s a fancy way of saying that the writer hit all the beats of the genre, but nothing more. Readers have read scripts from every genre hundreds of times. So you can’t stand out from the crowd just by “paying the dues.”

That’s why professional screenwriters not only hit all the genre beats, they do the beats in an original way. This is known as transcending the genre. And you simply cannot succeed if you fail to transcend the genres you’re working in. Unfortunately, there are no simple rules for how to do this for all genres. Transcending genre is different for each form. In the 1-day class I teach in each genre, I spend a great deal of time on exactly how to do this. Transcending depends on the story beats that are unique to your form. It also requires that you study the best films in your form so you know what has already been done.

10. Be honest with yourself, and specialize in the forms that are right for you.

Genres are extremely powerful structural tools for a screenwriter, and they are the key to your success in the entertainment business. But they are complex story systems. I don’t know a single professional screenwriter who has mastered more than 2 or 3 of them. That’s why it’s so important that you look honestly at yourself and assess your strengths and weaknesses as a writer. Determine which genres highlight your strengths and express the themes you believe in. Then apply yourself with laser-like focus to mastering those forms. When you let genres do the hard story work, and concentrate on writing them in an original way, you will be amazed at how good, and how successful, your scripts will be.

So what is it exactly that distinguishes the good comedy films from the great? Is it their ability to endure, the way their humor creeps up on you or takes you by surprise? Maybe it’s a great script, perfect timing or one-liners that hit the mark every time? Whatever it is, great comedy films leave a lasting impression and have an ability to engage us. They allow us to lower our defenses and share in the joy and the pain of the characters, as we identify with their situations. Ultimately, truly great comedy allows us to laugh at ourselves.

10. There’s Something About Mary

Arguably the best Farrelly brothers movie to date, they take a story about stalkers and turn it into a comedy. Ted Stroehmann (Ben Stiller) still longs for his prom date Mary Jensen (Cameron Diaz) years after losing track of her following an unfortunate accident on prom night. He eventually decides to hire a private detective to track her down, the only problem being, that the private detective falls in love with her too. Seems like Mary is every man’s dream girl. This movie produced many classic scenes, some you have to see to believe.

9. Airplane!

Considered by many to be the classic slapstick comedy. Airplane! tells the story of Ted Striker, who has never been able to fly a plane since an “incident” in the war. Striker is forced into action when a mysterious disease (don’t order the fish) knocks out the crew. Airplane! is so jam-packed with jokes you’ll need to see it a few times to catch them all.

8. Meet the Parents

This movie takes a potentially awkward situation that most people can relate to and takes it to the extreme. Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) tries to impress his girlfriends parents, but the father-in-law to be (played by Robert De Niro) is an ex CIA agent and is very mistrusting of Greg. Everything Greg tries to do ends up with disastrous consequences from losing the families cat, to giving his future sister-in-law a black eye. You can’t help but cringe and laugh at the same time at Greg’s misfortunes.

7. Blades of Glory

Following a fight at a medal awards ceremony, champion skaters Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) are banned from competitive skating for life. Years pass and circumstances bring them together for another chance at the podium, but this time in the “men’s doubles”. The story follows their hilarious preparations for the event; all-the-while dogged by attempts from the brother/sister pairs team of the Van Waldenbergs to sabotage their efforts.

6. Coming to America

One of the last great Eddie Murphy movies before his return in the late 90s. Coming to America tells the story of Prince Akeem (Murphy) coming to America to find himself a wife who will love him for who he is after rejecting the idea of an arranged marriage. A fish out of water story, Akeem can’t help but act with dignity even when working at the local fast food restaurant. He soon finds the women of his dreams but will she love him when she discovers he is a Prince from a far away land? A great story with very funny scenes and lots of cameos to look out for.

5. Borat

The story centers on Borat, the Kazakhstani reporter sent to the US to prepare a report for the benefit of his countrymen back home. Things don’t quite go according to plan as Borat falls madly in love with Pamela Anderson after seeing her in Baywatch. Borat decides to go to California to meet and marry her and encountering all sorts of people and situations along the way. Told in classic road trip style, the many adventures of Borat are sometimes crude, but often hilarious at the same time. The most amazing thing is that Borat is taken at face value by virtually everyone he meets with hilarious and sometimes jaw-dropping results.

4. This is Spinal Tap

This is the classic “rockumentary” – a spoof of so many other on-the-road, rock ‘n roll documentaries. It tells the story of Spinal Tap, a washed up British rock band returning to the US for another tour. What we end up with is a hilarious send-up and sometimes a biting commentary on the rock ‘n roll world. The band goes through inevitable ups and downs through their tour after their latest album cover is deemed too racy and is completely blacked out. The band breaks up only to reform (in typical rock and roll fashion) and to make more money on yet another tour.

3. Groundhog Day

Phil Conners (Bill Murray) somehow gets stuck replaying the same day over and over again… Groundhog Day. Like most people, at first it seems like fun, but after reliving the same day 100s of times, Phil becomes suicidal and tries to take his own life. After finding out he can’t die, he tries every conceivable way to kill himself. He eventually realizes this is pointless and starts to learn about the people and the town he’s stuck in and falls in love with his producer, Rita (Andie McDowell).

2. Sleeper

During a routine operation Miles Monroe (Woody Allen) is cryogenically frozen and then brought back to life 200 years later. The future looks bleak and is controlled by a big brother like government headed by “the Leader”. Monroe ends up joining the underground resistance with hilarious consequences. Perhaps the most memorable scene in the movie is when Miles “disguises” himself as an android. This film is noted for its more visual and slapstick gags than many of Woody Allens’s later movies.

1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Considered by many to be Monty Python’s finest work, the Holy Grail retells the classic story of King Arthur, but does away with most of the classic story. Instead, the king searches for knights to come to Camelot with him; along the way God appears to tell them to search for the Holy Grail. Their noble quest sees the majority of the knights killed off in funny ways until only two make it to the end. What happens there is one of the funniest and most absurd scenes ever filmed.

One Sunday in late December at my pal Quinn’s suggestion/invite…I walked over to the historic Grauman’s Egyptian Theater in Hollywood to catch a 7:30pm double feature of two classic action films…DIE HARD (1988) and DIE HARD 2 (1990). After meeting up at 6:00pm, Quinn and I had a nice dinner at a 60-year old Hollywood restaurant called Miceli’s…The pizza I had was quite good, yet Quinn was not happy with the sauce…Speaking of sauce, neither of us were able to get a drink that night, as our waiter gave us our food and disappeared…oh well…

Once inside the Egyptian, Quinn and I were primed and ready for DIE HARD fun. Before the films began, we were treated to a brief discussion with DIE HARD 1 & 2 co-screenwriter Steven E. de Souza. de Souza spoke a mile a minute, yet gave us some interesting tidbits about both movies…Who knew Frank Sinatra was the first choice for the leading role? You see, DIE HARD was based on a Roderick Thorp novel called “Nothing Lasts Forever”…which is the follow-up to an earlier Thorp novel called “The Detective”…which was made into a 1968 movie starring…Frank Sinatra. So, as “Nothing Lasts Forever” is the sequel to “The Detective”..Sinatra was offered the chance to reprise his role…yet he declined. de Souza also discussed that filming began on the first DIE HARD before the script was even finished…confounding the actors on set. He also discussed a device that helped him when he was feeling stuck on the story…essentially he thought of DIE HARD’s hero as the villain of the story…the one that ruins someone else’s plan. I would have liked to have heard more from Steven E. de Souza…yet he was ushered out shortly after…with no questions allowed from the audience…

Once the movies began…it was so much fun. I had not seen either film since they were originally released…and it was so great to revisit them again on the big screen at The Egyptian. The only downside…idiots in front of us with no manners…who insisted upon checking their phones and texting during DIE HARD 2. During the first 10 minutes of the film…some kid took out a very bright and distracting sidekick phone to send a message…Though I was hesitant at first, I eventually leaned down over the kid and said “Turn that shit off.” The kid turned his phone off immediately, and never turned it on again. Quinn was pleased, yet disapproved of my cussing…He was right, yet I couldn’t help myself…Later on, Quinn had to tell another person from the same row to turn off their phone…We must have just hit a batch of immature slugs…They all walked out at once as the end credits began to roll…I yelled out “Don’t forget your phone!”…

I enjoyed DIE HARD much more than when I originally saw it in 1988. Back then, I did not like the movie at all…and also disliked Bruce Willis. This time, I ate up John McTiernan’s strong direction…and had a great time watching Bruce Willis as Officer John McClane…a New York cop stuck in a Los Angeles high rise with murderous, hostage-holding, machine gun-wielding criminals…One man against an army of bad guys…lead by the menacing yet intelligent Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman). As bad as the bad guys are, there are no match for the experience, street-smarts, and drive of John McClane. It all comes down on who has the most to lose…For the bad guys, it’s all about money…If they win, they’re rich…If they lose…they frustratingly get nothing…or jail, or both…Yet for John McClane…it’s all about saving lives…his own and more importantly, the lives of the hostages…one of whom is his (estranged) wife (Bonnie Bedelia)…When the chips are down, McClane shines…bringing down each bad guy…one by one…Yet will he save the hostages in time? DIE HARD is a blast (pun very much intended)…Not only do you have a great hero, yet also have other colorful actors and characters to play with…On the right side of things you have Reginald VelJohnson as Sgt. Al Powell…McClane’s one and only ally…a rotund, twinkie-addicted cop who swore off bullets after accidentally shooting a teenager years before. On the wrong side, you have everyone…such as William Atherton as the jerk TV news reporter Richard Thornburg…a man you love to loathe…or Robert Davi and Grand L. Bush as foolish FBI agents Johnson…and Johnson. Plus you have Paul Gleason (who played the antagonist in other 80′s classics like TRADING PLACES and THE BREAKFAST CLUB)playing the loud, yet not very effective Deputy Police Chief Dwayne T. Robinson. How bout (future director) Hart Bochner as 80′s cocaine-fueled and slimy Harry Ellis? How bout Alexander Godunov as the angry Karl…out for revenge for the death of his brother (whom McClane has killed)? All of these characters help enhance the story…taking the film out of its singular, claustrophobic-like setting (one building in L.A.) and opening it up wide to form a fully rounded tale…DIE HARD set the template for many action films to come…at least the good ones…

It was strange for me to watch DIE HARD 2 again…19 years after I first saw it at General Cinema Central Plaza in Yonkers, N.Y. At the time I loved it…enjoying it much more than the first DIE HARD. My memory of it has always been strong…not the memory itself, yet the feeling I have when I think about DIE HARD 2. I had such a great time watching it back then. In 2009, I still enjoy it…though much differently than before. I suppose its all about expectations…I had none for DIE HARD…and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. For DIE HARD 2, I was expecting to experience the same kind of joy I had in July of 1990…and when I didn’t, I was disappointed. Yet my disappointment was personal and nostalgic, and doesn’t mean that DIE HARD 2 isn’t good…It’s very good…a perfect follow-up to DIE HARD…

The story is set in a D.C. airport, around Christmastime…Once again we find our hero John McClane…though this time he’s an L.A. cop in D.C….waiting for his wife to arrive from L.A. so that they can celebrate Christmas with the in-laws. After spotting some suspicious activity, McClane goes on the move…yet no one listens to him…Not airport police captain Carmine Lorenzo (Dennis Franz). Not the airport’s head honcho Trudeau (future Senator and Presidential candidate Fred Dalton Thompson). Yet the fact is, McClane is the best…and he uncovers a major terrorist plot to take over the entire airport so that captured drug lord Gen. Ramon Esperanza (Franco Nero) can escape to freedom when his plane arrives from Latin America. Lead by a rogue U.S. colonel named Stuart (William Sadler), the terrorists will kill anyone who get in their way. Despite being way out of his jurisdiction…McClane is a cop through and through, and nothing is going to stop him. His wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) is once again in danger, as her plane can’t land safely with terrorists shutting down the landing zones at the airport. Forced to circle the air, Holly’s plane is in danger of running out of fuel…and crashing to the ground. It’s up to John McClane foil the bad guys, and save the lives thousands of people on the ground…and in the air…With cCaptain Lorenzo foolisly undermining every movie…will John McClane succeed…or will the terrorists win, collect their evil General…and leave the casualties behind?

DIE HARD 2 is no doubt a rollercoaster ride of an action film…As in every good action sequel…it’s bigger, faster and much more violent than its predecessor. William Sadler is great as the villain Stuart, yet I miss the intelligence and wit of a cultured villain like Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman). Bruce Willis is a perfect John McClane as always…and several players from the first film return…such as William Atherton as the jerk TV news reporter Richard Thornburg…and Reginald VelJohnson as Sgt. Al Powell (still eating those twinkies)…Future TEMERINATOR 2 villain Robert Patrick appears as…what else..one of the terrorists…as does future star John Leguizamo…plus you have John Amos as Maj. Grant…an army general pulled in to help the fight against the terrorists…and great character actors like Vondie Curtis-Hall as Miller, an air traffic engineer who is one of John McClane’s few allies…and Tom Bower as Marvin, the hapless but highly helpful airport janitor. As in DIE HARD 1…you spend the entire movie rooting for John McClane…you like him…you want him to get those bad guys…and save the world. DIE HARD 2 gives you what you want…if you happen to like that sort of thing…which I do…

It was so great to watch DIE HARD and DIE HARD 2 back to back…In a way, that’s really the best way to watch these films. It’d be fun to watch all four DIE HARD movies in a row one day.if you happen to like that sort of thing…which I do.

Detective conan; which movies is shinichi in?

I mean like turned back into!

2076

The indigenous people of the Andean mountain range have been chewing the leaves of the coca plant for millenia. Archaeological evidence indicates that Peruvians were chewing coca as early as 1800 B.C. Ancient sculptures show the heads of warriors with the characteristic “bulge” in the cheek, depicting coca chewing. The coca plant was one of the first cultivated and domesticated plants in the New World. In certain parts of south America, the coca plant still plays an important role in everyday life. There are some remote parts of countries such as Columbia and Bolivia where coca paste is still used as a money commodity.

Coca’s turning point in Europe came in 1860 when Albert Niemann extracted pure cocaine powder from coca leaves. American physicians learned of the pharmacological possibilities of coca and cocaine in the late 1870s and early 1880s. Articles in medical journals recommended cocaine as an all-purpose stimulant, a cure for depression, a specific for hay fever and asthma and other conditions. Especially encouraging were reports that the new drug was useful in treating alcoholism and opiate addiction, then widespread problems. Freud was a fervent supporter of the use of cocaine as an anti-depressant, even publishing a manuscript detailing its virtues. Freud began experimenting with cocaine around this time, consuming small quantities to combat depression, sharing his experience with other European physicians who also found cocaine to be an effective topical anesthetic.

This refinement allowed the use of cocaine in many different medicinal products and beverages, most notably Coca-Cola and Vin Mariani. Conan Doyle stood alone in the late 19th century depicting the destructive qualities of cocaine in his consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes. As years went by and cocaine’s popularity increased, health risks were noted and seized upon by American legislators, who made the substance all but illegal in 1916.

Within the United States the growing consumption of cocaine and drug related violence in the early 1980s were defined as a threat to national security. President Ronald Reagan declared his war on drugs that contemplated the elimination of cocaine production at the source by the utilization of the local armed forces. Unfortunately, this was a rather short-sighted attempt at controlling a problem that persisted through the co-existence of counter-veiling factors.

First of all, despite efforts to persuade coca farmers otherwise, coca is the most cost-effective agricultural product for poor peasants.

Secondly, the very nature of the governmental structures in countries like Peru and Bolivia help perpetuate coca cultivation. A poor economy breeds officials who are easily bribed. Dissatisfaction with both the government and corrupt police has created a vacuum for guerrilla groups, like the Shining Path in Peru, to support and protect peasants while taking a cut of the coca sales. These are obviously just the tip of the iceberg. The plethora of issues supporting the cocaine production and distribution process at all levels is complicated. Reagan’s failure in the war against drugs and related crime activities is so great that drugs were the number one issue in the 1988 presidential campaign.
